Isaac.
It’s artists and makers who shape El Rayo. Uncovering human expression and trusting the process – to us, that’s what it’s all about.
So when we commissioned Alice Isaac to reinterpret our world through her eyes, we handed over our back catalogue – along with the freedom to explore. Because great art takes the scenic route. The result: two original pieces and two animations that put Alice’s process front and centre.
Alice is a self-taught collage artist and animator based in Margate. Her process is instinctive and experimental: taking materials apart and rebuilding them into something entirely new. Tapping into a desire for the real and the human, it’s everything we love about creativity. People using their hands and minds, with the time and space to see where things go.
“I’ve always been drawn to work that embraces my analogue collage process. The cutting, the layering, working with the tactility of printed imagery – for me that’s the most exciting way to work. Partnering with El Rayo felt like a natural fit because they’re not interested in the easy version of anything and having a brand supporting craft is so refreshing. It gives you hope for the future of creativity. They wanted me to interpret their world, my way. That kind of trust is rare and I think it shows in the work.”
